2008 Young Women’s Empowerment Academy
The second annual Young Women’s Empowerment Academy (YWEA) 2008 was a great success. Young women (between the ages of 12 and 16) attended their choice of three of three workshops on topics like
- West African Drumming
- Healthy Body Image & Self Esteem
- Physics Fun
After lunch, the afternoon was filled with fun as participants learned about the University of Arizona campus searching for clues and answers in a treasure adventure about famous women!
Parents & Caregivers were also invited to participate in a 1-hour program specifically geared towards supporting families in raising strong women.
