CSW will host Leah Jo Carnine and Professor Sara Tolbert from the group Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) in an interactive workshop exploring ways to confront harassment. Develop practical tools and strategies for de-escalating situations and supporting persons being targeted.
Leah Jo Carnine is a facilitator, community organizer, and family medicine Physician Assistant in Tucson, AZ. She has been part of immigrant rights and anti-racist organizing in Arizona since 2010, and helped co-found Tucson SURJ.
Sara Tolbert is associate professor in the department of Teaching, Learning, & Sociocultural Studies at UA and a volunteer facilitator for SURJ.
The workshop will be held in the Student Union or another central location on campus. Building and room information will be emailed to all who RSVP before the event.
