Saundra L. Taylor, Ph.D., retired on June 30, 2006, from The University of Arizona as Senior Vice President for Campus Life and was responsible for Student Life (including Dean of Students, Student Union, UA Bookstore, and Residence Life), Health and Wellness Services, Human Resources,Multicultural Affairs and Student Success, and UApresents. Dr. Taylor is a tenured faculty member in the Department of Higher Education.

Previously, Dr. Taylor served at Western Washington University as Vice President for Student Affairs, Interim Vice President for University Advancement, and tenured faculty member in Psychology. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from DePauw University (1963), a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Bowling Green State University (1965), and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Ohio University (1969).

Nationally Dr. Taylor was active in the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). In March 2003 she was named a Pillar of the Profession by the NASPA Foundation. She received the NASPA Region VI Sandra Kuchler Excellence in Mentoring Award in October 2004. Dr.Taylor was also an active member of the National Vice Presidents Group, a select group of student affairs administrators from the United States and Canada.

Upon her retirement, Dr. Taylor was honored by The University of Arizona when the Student Union Memorial Center Kiva Room was renamed in her honor and to commemorate her service to the University.
